Why Work With a Health and Wellness Coach?
Have you tried making changes in your life but you kept hitting roadblocks? Working one-on-one with a Health and Wellness Coach will help you figure out what is getting in the way and how to move forward. You may have an inner critic or perhaps you listen to others instead of trusting your instincts.
In order for you to help figure this out, you may complete various assessments and will be asked thought provoking questions which will allow for self-exploration.
Self-exploration is taking a look at your own thoughts, feelings, behaviors and motivations. The better you know yourself the better you can use your strengths and values so you can successfully reach lasting lifestyle changes which could include more self-care, manage your stress as well as nutrition and activity.
Self-Care
Self-care is an area that gets overlooked time after time. Self care the mindful taking of time to pay attention to you. This is done in a way that ensures that you are being cared for by you. If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you be there for others?
Stress Management
Stress encompasses both how our mind perceives a stressful situation and how our body responds to it. Together we will work on various techniqies you can use to change your stress mindset.
Nutrition and Activity
Good nutrition and being active are essential in order to stay healthly and feel good. If you noticed, I didn’t use diet and exercise becasue this is not the end all be all. What works for me probably won’t work for you so we will figure out what does work.
My Approach
As a coach, we will take a wholistic approach to your health and wellness. Health and wellness coaching is not only diet and exercise, but it also covers so much more. Let us take sleep as an example. Someone had told me that if you are not getting enough sleep, you are walking around as if you are drunk. Think about this, you are unable to think clearly, you feel tired which can affect you both mentally and physically. Do you think you will be able to stick to your good habits? What about stress? There tends to be a deeper reason people have difficulty making lasting lifestyle changes.
Our coaching relationship is a partnership, and I will be your ally through the transformations you want to make in your life. I will help you find the motivation you need in order to make these positive changes. I am not going to tell you what you SHOULD do but instead I will ask thought provoking questions so you can uncover the answers for yourself. You set the agenda for each coaching session. You may also have homework!
I will cultivate an atmosphere that will be non-judgmental, respectful and trusting. This will help you feel comfortable rediscovering yourself!
