My Story

My story started when my mom became ill and I moved in with her as her caregiver.  Mom passed away when I was 49.  This is when my health started to deteriorate.  I was not sleeping, eating well, exercising and was tired.  In other words, I was not taking care of myself which caused various medical issues such as Sleep Apnea, Diverticulitis and gained 30 pounds.

So, in 2017 I had to make some changes.  I rejoined a gym and began eating right and working out with a Personal Trainer.  With his support and guidance, as well as support from my friends and family, I was able to lose 28 pounds (which allowed me to shelve my CPAP machine), became stronger both mentally and physically as well as sleep better.

I began believing in myself versus in what others may have told me in the past.   Based on my positive mental, and physical transformations, I decided to pursue a Health and Wellness coaching certificate so I could help others in their pursuit to make transformational changes in their lives.  Now it is your turn!!

My Approach

As a coach, we will take a wholistic approach to your health and wellness.  Health and wellness coaching is not only diet and exercise, but it also covers so much more.  Let us take sleep as an example.  Someone had told me that if you are not getting enough sleep, you are walking around as if you are drunk.  Think about this, you are unable to think clearly, you feel tired which can affect you both mentally and physically.  Do you think you will be able to stick to your good habits?  What about stress?  There tends to be a deeper reason people have difficulty making lasting lifestyle changes. 

 Our coaching relationship is a partnership, and I will be your ally through the transformations you want to make in your life.  I will help you find the motivation you need in order to make these positive changes.  I am not going to tell you what you SHOULD do but instead I will ask thought provoking questions so you can uncover the answers for yourself.  You set the agenda for each coaching session.  You may also have homework!

I will cultivate an atmosphere that will be non-judgmental, respectful and trusting. This will help you feel comfortable rediscovering yourself!
